Most Memorable is Foochow Arsenal 1866

The “Most Memorable is Foochow Arsenal 1866” performance project is based in the Mawei Shipbuilding Culture Center in Fuzhou, and it is China’s first folding progressive theater, the first three-dimensional performance show themed on shipbuilding history, and the first multi-dimensional experiential drama advocating the significance of maritime power in China. Taking cues from the growth of a young man in the Shipbuilding School and the transmission of China’s shipbuilding history, the performance delivers the shipbuilding spirit of “patriotism, science, innovation, and development”, and represents the shipbuilding culture that was passed on to the new China. Distilling the history of a century into a performance of around 1 hour, the performance allows audience to see the history and significance of the shipbuilding industry while also inspiring national pride and patriotism. In addition, by utilizing the local dialect, folk navigation terminology, folk rituals, folk dances, and other elements, Fujian’s unique culture is richly exhibited to the audience.

At the same time, by utilizing advanced technologies including multimedia digital art, virtual and augmented reality, and holographic projection, this project connects the spatial relationships of squares, workshops, and docks, thereby creating a refreshing and impressive multidimensional sensory experience, presenting the epic story of the development of China's naval power.
